The weather has been heating up, and whilst it may be great news for some, for many of our older service users it’s a worrying time.
When a heatwave strikes, those who are most at risk are over 75 years old and have health issues. Risks posed include dehydration, overheating and heat stroke.
At Lodge Group Care we do all we can to ensure the welfare of our service users. During the June heatwave, we delivered 800 complimentary bottles of water to our service users. It is extremely important for those who are at risk to keep their water intake up and stay cool. The NHS offer tips for coping in a heatwave – read them here.
